With the holidays finally, here we would usually be gearing up for in-person holiday festivities, but since we’re in 2020, of course, things have to be a little different. Instead of our in-person soirées this year, we will be opting for the safer route for our friends and family by hosting virtual get-togethers. While you can always go for a party up top and pajama pants down below, some of us may still want to dress up for the season. Here are some outfit ideas that can always make you feel festive even though you’re at home.

Silk and Sweaters

A huge trend this year has been silk tops and sweater skirts. Paired together, these two make a not only effortless but comfortable combo. A ribbed midi skirt in cream paired with a lace trim cowlneck cami in a matching cream color will give you holiday chic without being overly flashy in your usual red and green.

Emerald and Evergreen

Emerald green has been a vast statement color making its rounds once again for the holiday season. Not only has this gorgeous shade been a staple of the holiday season, but we also saw it cropping up a lot this past spring and summer. If you want to turn it into a festive piece for your holiday season, take a plush velvet cowlneck bodysuit in green and pair it with a pair of black faux leather joggers. Top it off with a stunning black and white buffalo plaid blazer, and you will stun all your friends on the holiday zoom call.

Sizzling Red

A more classic version of your holiday outfits is anything red. Another trend that’s once again making its rounds has been sweater dresses. It’s a holiday favorite paired with a pair of over-the-knee boots, and you will be the talk of the party. This year, though, we can ditch the over-the-knee boots and opt for over the knee socks instead.

Classic Christmas Sweater

If all else fails, and you can’t decide, you can always rely on your favorite ugly Christmas sweater. Everyone should probably have this item in their closet, but they don’t always have to be ugly. Paired with an oldie-but-goodie pair of flared leg jeans, you can take your sweater from ugly to boho festive.

While the holidays may not be like we planned this year, we can still try to spend it with our families any way that we can. With technology like Zoom and Skype, we can always bring our families together to celebrate the holidays in the best way while still keeping them healthy and safe.
